The Challenge

Industrial machinery operates at high loads and generates repetitive dynamic forces. Without isolation, these forces transmit through the machine feet directly into the foundation slab — radiating as structure-borne noise throughout the building, accelerating fatigue in the structure, and creating vibration levels that can interfere with adjacent precision equipment or compromise occupant safety.

The problem is compounded in multi-storey industrial facilities, where vibration from one floor can affect sensitive processes on others, and in buildings adjacent to residential or commercial occupancies.

Solution

Mwendo specifies Sylomer® elastomer pads and AMC anti-vibration mounts for industrial machinery isolation. Products are selected based on the machine mass, operating frequency, dynamic load characteristics, and the foundation stiffness.

For complex machinery or where multiple excitation frequencies are present, Mwendo works with acoustic consultants and structural engineers to develop a complete isolation specification.
