Floating Floor Solutions

Impact noise is caused by the use of rooms, radiating via the floor into adjacent rooms and other floors of the building. Effective floating floor solutions isolate the source elastically from the structure — stopping noise where it starts rather than treating it after it has spread.

This is essential in mixed-use buildings: supermarkets beneath offices, doctor's surgeries next to private apartments, rooftop bars above hotel suites, and recording studios in any building type. The right approach depends on load, available floor height, construction type, and the frequency range of the primary disturbance.

The Acoustic Floor Mat (AFM) range is installed over the entire surface and is suitable for isolating floating screed, dry screed, and heavy-duty screed. Six types provide customised sound control — from targeted compliance with standards to the highest acoustic requirements, with impact noise improvements of up to 38 dB.
