Akustik Floor Spring AFS
The Akustik Floor Spring AFS combines Sylomer® microcellular polyurethane with calibrated coil springs to achieve elevated acoustic isolation values across both low and high disturbing frequencies — a performance level not achievable with elastomer alone.
How It Works
- Coil spring handles low-frequency isolation — effective against heavy impact and mechanical excitation
- Sylomer® element attenuates mid and high frequencies where springs alone are less effective
- The two elements in series provide broadband attenuation not achievable with a single material
- C-profile galvanised steel supports (75/50/2mm) recommended for installation
Typical Applications
- Floating floors above mechanical plant rooms
- Recording studios and broadcast facilities requiring the lowest achievable noise floor
- High-specification residential and hotel floors above heavy vibration sources
- Floors subject to both low-frequency impact and high-frequency structure-borne noise
Variants
- AFS 25 — 25 kg/m² load rating · Black spring
- AFS 50 — 50 kg/m² load rating · Blue spring
Typical Applications
- Lightweight dry screed floating floors
- Timber batten and panel systems over low-density screeds
- Renovation projects with strict floor height constraints
Variants
- AFS 75 — 75 kg/m² load rating · Grey spring
- AFS 100 — 100 kg/m² load rating · Beige spring
Typical Applications
- Standard wet screed floating floors in residential and commercial projects
- Hotel and apartment buildings over car parks or plant rooms
- Mixed-use developments with moderate floor loads
Variants
- AFS 150 — 150 kg/m² load rating · Black spring
- AFS 250 — 250 kg/m² load rating · Red spring
Typical Applications
- Heavy concrete floating floors in industrial and commercial buildings
- Floors subject to significant static and dynamic loading
- Plant room isolation slabs with high equipment loads
Standard — Rubber Ends
- High-quality rubber base and top caps
- Effective across the full frequency range in standard applications
- Suitable for the majority of floating floor projects
Enhanced — Sylomer® Base
- Sylomer® microcellular polyurethane replaces the standard rubber base
- Provides additional attenuation at higher frequencies
- Specified for critical acoustic environments — recording studios, broadcast facilities, high-specification residential
