Mwendo supplied g-fit floating floor systems and equipment isolation for VASA Fitness, addressing the significant impact noise and vibration generated by high-intensity training in a shared building environment.

Challenge

Fitness centres generate some of the highest structure-borne noise loads of any building occupancy type — particularly in free-weights areas and group exercise studios. Situated within a multi-tenancy building, VASA required an isolation solution that would meet noise standards without restricting operating hours or activity types.

Solution

g-fit products from Getzner were specified across multiple zones: full-surface floating floors for the group exercise studio and cardio area, with g-fit Impact underlays in the free-weights zone. Individual equipment mounts were used for treadmills and heavy machines.

Outcome

• Impact noise in adjacent and lower-floor tenancies reduced to compliant levels
• Unrestricted operating hours maintained post-installation
• Retrofit installation completed without structural alterations
