Bokpoort CSP Plant

Mwendo provided industrial vibration isolation for the Bokpoort Concentrated Solar Power plant in the Northern Cape — isolating turbines and rotating equipment to protect the plant structure and reduce transmitted vibration to adjacent systems.

Challenge

Large-scale power generation equipment produces significant dynamic loads at both periodic and broadband frequencies. Without effective isolation, these loads transmit into building structures and foundations, causing fatigue, increased maintenance requirements, and potential structural damage over time.

Solution

Sylomer® high-load elastomeric isolators were specified and supplied for the turbine and pump systems. Each isolator was selected based on the dynamic load characteristics of the specific equipment, ensuring effective isolation across the full operating frequency range.
